Ottumwa -- Indian Hills volleyball player Wynter Davis has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Volleyball Athlete of the Week. Davis, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, was recognized for her play in the Warriors’ six matches during the final week of the regular season.
A middle blocker, Davis had 68 kills, a hitting efficiency of .369, 15 block assists and nine ace serves in those matches against some tough competition.
The two-year starter leads the Warriors in kills and blocks this season.
Indian Hills will play in the District D tournament in Carbondale, Illinois this weekend. The Warriors will open the double-elimination tourney against the host school, John A. Logan, at 4:30 Friday afternoon. Iowa Western and three Illinois schools will join Indian Hills in the tourney. The winner of the district tournament advances to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri Nov. 17-20.
