Good Start to Postseason for IHCC Netters

Council Bluffs, IA -- It was a good first day at the District C volleyball tournament on Friday for the Indian Hills Warriors. The Warriors defeated both Kaskaskia and John A. Logan to advance to the second day of the three-day tourney without a loss. Next up is top-seed Iowa Western at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors downed Kaskaskia in five sets, winning the decisive set 17-15. After dropping the opening set, 27-25, IHCC rallied to win the next two, 25-19 and 25-21. Kaskaskia stayed alive with a 25-23 win in the fourth set.

Patrice Souza had a strong performance at the net with a team-high 20 kills for IHCC. Kersten Phillips had 13 kills and Tahler Johnston 12. Taylor Woebbeking had 51 assists and Timmi Lueck and Lizzy White combined for 63 digs.

Against John A. Logan, the Warriors won convincingly, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-20. Johnston led in kills with nine and Lueck had 19 digs.

Indian Hills' season record is 15-11 heading into the match with Iowa Western.
