Warriors Notch Road Win

Estherville, IA -- Indian Hills was able to avenge two losses to Iowa Lakes last year with a 3-0 win over the Lakers on Tuesday night as the Warriors ran their season record to 4-1.

Showing no ill effects of the long trip to northwest Iowa, Indian Hills was in control for virtually the entire match, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-12.

"We came out a little flat," said IHCC coach Lyndsey Lyon.  "But we did a good job of cleaning up our mistakes.  It's nice to see our girls really stepping up at the net and putting the ball away."

One of those who stepped up was sophomore Emily Eswonia, who led the net attack for IHCC with six kills.

Indian Hills had a big night serving with just six errors on 81 serves.  Ailime deFreitas had five of the Warriors' 13 ace serves to go along with 24 assists.

Carla Novaes and Jessica Black had 14 and 13 digs, respectively.  Cris Vosconcoles had a team-high five blocks for the Warriors who return to action in a tournament hosted by Lincoln Land CC in Springfield, Ill. this weekend.
