Warriors Enjoy Perfect Day in Home Tourney

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills didn't lose a set in sweeping a pair of matches in its home invitational on Saturday.  The Warriors defeated both Iowa Lakes CC and East Central (MO) CC in three sets to up its season record to 16-4.

IHCC got off to a fast start in its morning match with Iowa Lakes, ripping off a 25-9 win in the opening set.  It finished off the Lakers by scores of 25-16 and 25-21.  The Warriors followed that up with the sweep of East Central, winning 25-18, 25-15 and 25-14.  Indian Hills actually trailed, 10-6, in the second set with East Cental before scoring six straight points and then putting the set away with an eight-point run.

Freshmen Carla Novaes and Peyton Crosser had 18 and 17 kills, respectively, for the Warriors in the two matches.  Crosser also had nine blocks, one fewer than teammate Cristiane Vosconsoles.  Jessi Black and Emily Eswonia each had double-digit digs totals in each match.  And Novaes had four ace serves for IHCC.

Indian Hills stays at home for a pair of matches this week.  They will host the Grand View JV on Monday and Southeastern CC Wednesday.
