Ottumwa -- Playing for the first time in a week, the Indian Hills volleyball team shook off some early rust and went to defeat the visiting William Penn JV in three sets Wednesday night at the Tom Arnold Net Center.
The Warriors won by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-14. The first two sets were competitive early before IHCC pulled away.
On a night when IHCC coach Lyndsey Lyon was able to use her entire roster, the statistical leaders were Carla Novaes and Peyton Crosser with nine and eight saves, respectively; Crosser, Arika Johnson and Kaylee Scholten with two blocks each; and Jessi Black with 19 digs.
The win puts the Warriors' season record at 14-4 heading into a home tournament this Saturday. Indian Hills will play Iowa Lakes at 10 a.m. and East Central (Mo.) at 4 p.m.
