Reivers Take Down Warriors

Council Bluffs, IA -- Iowa Western, ranked 5th in the country, won its first matchup of the season with Indian Hills, taking Wednesday's match in three sets, 25-22, 25-16, and 28-26.

As the scores indicate, the Warriors were very competitive in the first and third sets, but had problems in capitalizing on the chances they had at the net.  "Our biggest problem was putting the ball down," said IHCC coach Lyndsey Lyon.  "We struggled a little in that execution.  Iowa Western also caused us to commit a few errors.  They served and hit aggressively."

Cristiane Vosconcoles was a bright spot for Indian Hills.  The freshman had three ace serves, two kills, a team-high five blocks and a dig.  Peyton Crosser led IHCC with eight kills and Emily Eswonia added seven.  Jessi Black had 14 digs.

The loss leaves Indian Hills' season record at 13-4.  They won't play again until hosting the William Penn JV on Sept. 26.
