Boone, IA -- After two sets on Tuesday night, Indian Hills was well on its way to its second sweep against DMACC in less than a week. But the homestanding Bears rallied to get the match to a decisive fifth set, then survived a match point by the Warriors to come all the way back for a 3-2 win.
Indian Hills led 15-14 in the fifth set and served for the win. DMACC, however, won that point and the next two to win 17-15 and complete their comeback.
The Warriors were rolling early, taking the first two sets 25-20 and 25-13. The home squad was able to regroup to win the next two sets 25-17 and 25-20. That set the stage for the deciding set.
Carla Novaes led Indian Hills with 14 kills and Peyton Crosser had eight blocks. Jessica Black had a team-high 23 digs and Cris Vosconsoles had five of IHCC's 17 ace serves.
Indian Hills returns home to battle Kirkwood CC on Thursday night at 7:00.
